Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The unit had everything one needs for a very comfortable stay in Yelapa whether you are staying for one night or a month. Kitchen was well equipped for staying in and cooking if one wishes to. There were also many places to eat breakfast & dinner nearby in the village and at the beach serving great tasting food. The unit was well provided with beach towels, beach blankets and bath towels. We really enjoyed open concept spaciousness of the unit, the jungle & water view and privacy. Kitchen, living room and bedroom were all huge and open. We only wished that we were able to find the place sooner to enjoy all that was great about the place. We had a hard time finding the place because the map on the booking site showed incorrect location and we had no cell reception once we got to Yelapa. By the grace of the friendly locals we were able to find the place in the end. I believe the map on booking site is now fixed but you’ll want to confirm before heading to Yelapa. Also if you are booked on the top floor, you would want to only carry a small case or a backpack since it can be hard to negotiate the outdoor metal spiral stairs with a large case. We walked from the town site pier since most of the atvs were taken by the large number of what appears to be cruise ship bucket list visitors. They really clogged the narrow roads which should be left for walkers, horses and atvs servicing the village. Thank goodness they all have to go back to ship in the afternoon. This was very disturbing change in Yelapa since my last visit in 2017. Otherwise Yelapa is still beautiful and peaceful place with great beach to swim, friendly locals & mellow visitors and great food.
