This Santa Barbara “Casita” is located on one of the Riviera's most private and beautiful estates directly across the street from the El Encanto Hotel. It sits on the lower portion of the three acre parcel and is completely separate from the main house-it is free-standing.
The Casita consists of the spacious bottom or first floor only with bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, hallway and large outdoor patio with lounge furniture, bbq grill and seating area.
If you are looking for privacy, peacefulness, and cleanliness, this is a wonderful and central location and place to call home while you are in Santa Barbara. Staying at the Casita is like staying at your own little Biltmore cottage but without the heavy price tag. In addition, the Casita looks out onto a small vineyard with grapes.
As the casita is secluded from the main estate this allows our visitors privacy and a sense of retreat while they can relax on the patio with total privacy and no neighbors other than our sweet chickens. Great for a couple seeking a romantic getaway, a writer, musician or painter or anyone looking for a quiet secret spot to rest. Furthermore, the private parking spot is located right next to the back door of the casita allowing our visitors to drive right up to the house without trying to meander through someone’s yard or garden path.
The Casita is located in one of the very best Santa Barbara locations. We sit directly above the Mission allowing our visitors to be in the upper heart of town. Driving or walking to your destination is easy and usually very convenient to find. It is within walking distance to the famous El Encanto Hotel (where you can walk across the street to have a nice dinner or evening cocktail), the Historic Santa Barbara Mission, and the Natural History Museum. The Riviera neighborhood theatre is right across the street as well- A walkers delight!
The Casita is small yet it is immaculate and fully functional. It has a spacious large bedroom-living room with a king size bed, wonderful soft sheets, entertainment cabinet, armoire, small sofa, and breakfast nook small eating table for two. It has two windows allowing for lots of natural northern light to fill the room. One of the windows looks out to a beautiful fountain and enclosed garden area. Also there are two large French doors that open up to the parking area allowing for wonderful access and more natural light and fresh air.
The full size bathroom has a tub/shower, sink with counter and small window looking out to the patio area. It is also stocked with basic necessaries in case you forget something. The kitchen is small yet furnished with a large size refrigerator with freezer,small stove with oven, microwave oven, toaster oven, etc, and opens up to a private patio area overlooking a small vineyard & olive tree grove.
The bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom all have solid wood entry doors allowing our visitors to close off the rooms for privacy. The wonderful private patio-sun deck is like another large room added to the casita. It is lovely and secluded making it ideal for sunbathing and relaxing or eating outside as it is furnished with round table and chairs and a lounge chair and table all with nice clean cushions.
Please note that the Casita consists of the first floor only and that it is much like a large studio with a seperate entry, bath, and kitchen,
Because of our upper Riviera location, our Guests have the luxury of enjoying some of the best weather conditions Santa Barbara has to offer. It is commonly known that in the spring and summer months, the city of Santa Barbara is often covered by our costal fog. Often this fog does not burn off until mid-day or late afternoon disappointing many a visitor that stay close to the beach areas. Our Guests are so happy to be staying in Our Casita as they wake up to lots of sun and look down on the city covered with fog below.

Our favorite VRBO!
This property is by far our favorite VRBO. The setting is beyond comparison. It is like having your own private estate in Santa Barbara. They have made very efficient use of the space. There was plenty of storage for two people to completely unpack for a 10 night stay. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware and appliances. We texted our host a couple of times and she responded immediately. Simply put, it was a wonderful experience.

Perfect SB Accommodations
We loved our stay in the Casita in the lower Riviera. Arriving we could not believe the beautiful grounds and surroundings. So close to town yet once we entered the gates we felt worlds away. The Casita is perfectly equipped- great wi-fi and easy to access with parking right safe next to the house. The kitchen is basic but has everything you need and the bed is very comfortable. We loved having the shower/tub and the patio for breakfast was just divine! Like south of France.

Casita on the SB Riviera
The Casita was a lovely place for our stay in Santa Barbara. Close and convenient to everything we needed in SB, yet a private and beautiful place to relax and come "home" to. The Casita is comfortable and efficient with all that is needed, even for a long stay. And just a short walk to the Riviera Theatre. The private off street parking is a plus. We are looking forward to coming back again.
