Summary: I booked a room at the Hotel Texan as a stopping point after the first leg of my drive from Alabama to the Southwest. I wanted something budget-friendly with a little character and charm — and it didn’t disappoint.
I arrived later than expected, around 9 p.m. local time, but the owner met me in the lobby right away, walked me to my room, and made sure I got settled. The moment you step into this turn-of-the-century building, you’re hit with this rich, historic vibe. The seating area behind the lobby feels like an old-timey saloon, and the shared kitchen is stocked with all kinds of snacks and Keurig options. (Yes, I absolutely snagged an Uncrustable before bed — zero regrets.)
I stayed in the Peach Room, which was perfect for a quick but comfortable night’s rest. Crisp, comfy linens, plenty of fluffy towels, and a space that feels updated without losing its old-world charm. The building itself is over a hundred years old, and the renovations strike that perfect balance between modern comfort and “step back in time” character — creaky wood floors and all.
But honestly, the highlight of my stay was the conversation I had with the owner, Gareth, early the next morning. Even at the crack of dawn, his hospitality and kindness stood out.
If you’re passing through the Seagraves area and want something unique, something with personality instead of the sterility of a big chain hotel, definitely check out this tucked-away little gem.

Summary: The owner is very nice. He goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. Main St. Pizza also has good food and ice cream, next-door to the hotel. I would recommend it to anyone. It is very nice and clean. If I have any business in Hobbs or Lubbock, I will definitely drive an hour to stay at The Hotel Texan instead of staying at any other hotel.

Summary: This is an old building with wooden floors that screech at every step. Small too not many outlets. When arrived water was off for about hour and a half. Definitely not luxurious. Weed like smell at check in desk. Overall ok for an overnight stay. Not your typical hotel..
