Positive: The Franklin is one of the very few hotels on the Upper East Side. It’s perfectly located for visiting museums, you can walk to the Met, Guggenheim, Neue Galerie and the Central Park. It’s a two minute walk to several metro lines. The rooms are small, but not worse than in Paris or London, but if you are two I would go for the larger room. The room was surprisingly practically arranged, with a rack for clothes, hooks etc. It was a bit chilly in the room in December and the floor was cold, but there’s air conditioning. They don’t serve breakfast, which is very common in NYC, but there are cafes nearby. The neighbourhood is nice and felt very safe to walk late at night. Best of all, the hotel was quiet, unlike most hotels in NYC, from what I’ve heard. I would definitely stay there again.

Negative: The hotel was very expensive in the holiday season (Thanksgiving-Christmas), but this is the Upper East Side. It would have been nice to have a lamp by the bed and a small shelf.
